In this lesson it all comes together: board and kite skills. We’ll practice water start and extended rides in both directions. Working closely with your instructor for the duration of the lesson, you will learn the power dive and water start with your board on your feet and do your first short rides. Your instructor will follow you closely with a jet ski and provide guidance and maintain continuous communication through a radio helmet. You will learn how to control the speed of your riding by edging, how to ride upwind and your first turning transitions.
The lesson includes all the necessary kiteboarding gear and protective equipment.
The lesson plan is flexible and adaptable. The pace at which specific kiteboarding levels are attained is determined by the individual progression of the student.
To ensure a comfortable and safe experience, participants are required to dress appropriately. This includes wearing water booties and suitable water attire, such as (depending on prevailing temperatures) a wetsuit. Refer to our FAQ for detailed recommendations.
