Embark on your journey into kiteboarding with our “Kiteboarder Level 1” lesson – the essential foundation for mastering this sport. In this extensive three-hour session, you’ll delve into the details and intricacies of kiteboarding equipment, wind dynamics, wind window theory, and kiteboarding safety systems. Your instructor guides you through the complete process of setting up, handling, launching, and landing the kite with precision. This comprehensive experience equips you for a secure venture into the water with a fully-powered kiteboarding kite.
The initial segment unfolds on land (about 2 hours), providing a solid understanding of the fundamentals. Subsequently, we’ll transition to the water for practical kite control exercises (about 1 hour). Utilizing our jet ski, we’ll cruise from Messick Public Boat Ramp to our designated lesson area featuring shallow waters, creating an optimal learning environment.
The lesson includes all the necessary kiteboarding gear and protective equipment.
The lesson plan is flexible and adaptable. The pace at which specific kiteboarding levels are attained is determined by the individual progression of the student.
To ensure a comfortable and safe experience, participants are required to dress appropriately. This includes wearing water booties and suitable water attire, such as (depending on prevailing temperatures) a wetsuit. Refer to our FAQ for detailed recommendations.
Unlock the potential to become an IKO-certified kiteboarder through this course. An IKO certification allows you to demonstrate your skills world-wide to, e.g., rent kite equipment.
